Current Vacancies

- - Manager, Landscape Division - -

  • Answerable to the Sales Director.
  • 40 hours per week (to include every Saturday morning).

Overall purpose of the job:

To manage an established and successful division of the business and to maximise sales of it's landscaping products to the trade and to the general public.

Key tasks:

  • To source and maintain a range of products that represent value for money with a profitable margin;
  • To liaise with the Sales Director to confirm suppliers are members of the affiliated buying group or represent an opportunity more beneficial in terms of range, fit and profit;
  • To organise promotional literature and instigate fresh approaches to promote Forward's landscape division;
  • To compile data/progress reports on the division for sales meetings;
  • To display the range in such a way as to maximise potential sales by keeping displays clean and tidy and price ticketing where applicable.
  • To service all enquiries from the general public and turn into profitable sales;
  • To develop new and maintain existing contacts/accounts with landscapers;
  • To organise the delivery of orders to both the general public and landscapers via the Transport Manager;
  • To service/respond to any queries arising from sales and/or deliveries;
  • To assist in dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries from civil customers;

General:

  • To assist in any other tasks/projects as required from time to time by the Directors;
  • To adhere strictly to procedures relating to the handling and security of cash and credit card transactions;
  • At all times, when carrying out key tasks, maintain financial awareness and ensure that operational management approval is obtained  for any expenditure;
  • At all times during the employment conform to the security measures of the Data Protection Act 1998 and to the safety of self and others in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Fire Safety Order 2005;

 A good standard of education generally, but in particular, English (in order to effectively communicate in writing) and Maths (in order to provide accurate quotations)

- - Trainee Internal Sales Executive - -

  • Based in Ellesmere Port.
  • Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will be part of our busy sales team.
  • Typical responsibilities include dealing with incoming telephone sales inquiries, making outgoing calls, and serving customers on our trade counter.
  • A professional telephone manner would be required and you should also be able to demonstrate good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sage.
  • On the job training will be provided.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated and be able to work to a high level of detail without close supervision.
  • You should also be comfortable working within a team.

- - Class 2 HGV Delivery Driver - -

  • Based from Ellesmere Port depot.
  • Typical responsibilities include routine maintenance checking of delivery vehicles, picking, loading / unloading and delivering of building materials, plus other associated yard based tasks.
  • A Class 2 HGV clean licence is required, and previous Hiab experience is desirable.
  • Candidates should be conscientious, reliable, and diligent with their work.
