Blue Slate Chippings 40mm is a naturally sourced Welsh slate aggregate, widely used across landscaping, garden design and groundworks. The large flat chippings are particularly well suited to garden paths, driveways, borders, rockeries and around trees and shrubs, where their bold size creates strong visual impact.
As well as looking great, blue slate chippings offer real practical benefits. Laid over weed membrane, the 40mm blue slate suppress weed growth effectively, help manage water retention in the soil and deter algae build-up, reducing long-term garden maintenance. Because this blue slate is naturally sourced from Welsh quarries, there will be some natural variation in colour tone between batches, which only adds to its character. Blue Slate Chippings pairs well with our Green Slate Chippings 40mm, Grey Slate Chippings 40mm and Plum Slate Chippings 40mm.
